Holy dogshit batman... i think we're cracked it!
i decided to be a little extravagant today.
some bernard matthews premium turkey slices (40p from the spar last night), two slices of the 10p bread from the previous evenings trip to tesco, half a very ripe vine tomato from sainsburys (which has been living in my fridge for around 2 weeks now) and a couple of slices of pickled beetroot... topped with branstons finest relish :)
and here is the end result:
it was a little soggy due to the over ripe tomato, beetroot and stupidly thin 10p bread, but my god was it tasty! this is the first sandwich this week i would happily eat more of. I think it helps that relish isnt the only other main ingredient this time. when it's just two fillings, the relish overpowers it, and kinda ruins it a bit, but this time, it worked well amongst the other flavours. i made sure i added salt as well, which i think was the masterstroke. it wasnt too sweet. two slices of the posh (yet so cheap. thank god for sell-by dates!) turkey meatstuff either end of the sandwich definitely helped.
so yeah, i think more elaborate is the way forward, although i have a few other experiments i wish to try (due to public demand).. the first of which is likely to involve the king of dirty meats...

shame spar didnt have any coleslaw...
